1. Purifying    
To remove impurities such as dust, cob or other foreign materials that are mixed  with the corn kernels.

2. Steeping
To soak corn kernels in a mixture of water and acid for softening


3. Grinding
To break the germ loose from other components of corn kernels


4. Germ separation
To separate germ from the endosperm of corn kernels


5. Mechanical and solvent extraction
To extract corn oil from the germ


6. Second grinding
To grind more thoroughly to release corn starch and gluten from the fibre


7. Fibre separation
T
o obtain fibre from the mixture of corn starch and gluten after the second grinding


8. Protein separation
To obtain gluten from the remaining mixture


9. Cleansing and dehydration
To remove the traces of protein and water from the starch slurry


10. Modification

To modify starch via physical and/or chemical means to render its special properties


11. Saccharification
To convert starch into sugar using the biochemical process


12. Fermentation
To transform sugar into amino acids using specific micro-organisms

13. Hydrogenation
